Jharkhand NEET PG 2026: Official Advisory Released for State Merit List Application
The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has issued an important advisory regarding the upcoming online application process for preparation of the State Merit List based on NEET (PG)-2026 Result.
According to Advt. No. JCECEB/65/26-88 dated September 25, 2026, JCECEB will conduct online counselling for recommendation of candidates for admission to Post Graduate Medical Degree, Diploma and DNB courses on the basis of the Jharkhand State Merit List prepared from the NEET PG 2026 result.
The Board has advised eligible aspirants to update all required certificates and documents before applying for inclusion in the State Merit List to avoid discrepancies, grievances, rejection or cancellation at a later stage.
Jharkhand NEET PG Counselling 2026: Certificates Must Be Updated
Candidates preparing to apply for the Jharkhand NEET PG State Merit List should ensure that their required certificates are valid and updated at the time of application.
The advisory specifically covers:
- Local Resident Certificate
- ST/SC Certificate
- BC-I (NCL) Certificate
- BC-II (NCL) Certificate
- Income & Assets Certificate for EWS
- PwD Certificate
- In-Service Certificate
Candidates should keep the applicable documents ready before the online State Merit List application process begins.
Residential, Category and EWS Certificates
JCECEB has advised candidates to update their Local Resident, ST, SC, BC-I (NCL), BC-II (NCL) and Income & Assets certificates for EWS.
The certificates should be issued by an officer not below the level of Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of the Jharkhand State, as specified in the advisory.
Candidates should ensure that their certificates meet the prescribed requirements before uploading them with the State Merit List application.
PwD Candidates Must Have Valid Certificate from RIMS Ranchi
Candidates seeking benefit under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category have been advised to get their PwD certificates updated.
JCECEB has specifically stated that PwD certificates issued from RIMS, Ranchi will only be valid for the purpose mentioned in the advisory.
Candidates claiming PwD benefits should therefore ensure that they have the required valid certificate before submitting their application.
In-Service Candidates Must Upload Civil Surgeon Certificate
Candidates seeking the benefit of In-Service status must upload an In-Service Certificate issued by their Civil Surgeon.
The certificate will be required while applying for the Jharkhand NEET PG State Merit List.
Candidates intending to claim the in-service benefit should arrange the prescribed certificate before the online application process.
Category Difference Between NEET PG and State Merit List Application
JCECEB has also issued an important clarification regarding category differences.
If a candidate selects a category in the Jharkhand State Merit List application form that is different from the category mentioned in the NEET PG 2026 application form, the candidate will generally be considered under the Unreserved category.
However, an exception applies where there is a difference between the Central and State caste lists.In such cases, candidates can be considered under their claimed category only after uploading the original caste certificate along with the State Merit List application form.
OBC Candidates Can Choose BC-I or BC-II
The advisory further states that OBC candidates who appeared in NEET PG 2026 will be given the option to choose either BC-I or BC-II while completing the State Merit List application. Candidates should carefully select the applicable category and ensure that the required certificate is available.
